motii. ApS develops motii and offers it under our own name. Under the AI Act that makes us the provider of the motii AI system, even though the underlying language model is supplied by a third party. The provider obligations in Article 50(1) and 50(2) are therefore ours, not our model supplier's, and we do not pass them on to you.

Every answer the motii assistant gives is generated by an AI system. There is no human reading your notes and replying. We tell you this in the app, where you use the assistant, and we repeat it here so it is on the record.

The assistant will also tell you it is an AI system if you ask it directly.

Article 50(2) of the AI Act requires providers of generative AI to mark their output in a machine-readable format and to make a means of detection available. Because motii was placed on the market before 2 August 2026, the transitional rule introduced by Regulation (EU) 2026/1744 applies to us, and our deadline for these two measures is 2 December 2026.

We are implementing them now. When they are live we will describe here exactly how motii marks its output and how anyone can check a piece of text against it. Until then, treat any text the assistant produces as AI-generated, because it is.

The assistant works only with the context you give it. It:

• Generates answers from your own notes, highlights and inputs
• Does not verify whether your sources are correct
• Can be wrong, incomplete or confidently misleading
• Does not make decisions — you do

motii is a reflection and learning tool. It is not advice, coaching, therapy, or a financial, legal or medical adviser, and it must not be used as a substitute for a qualified professional. Section 3 of our Terms of Service sets this out in full.

What you do with the assistant’s output is up to you, but once you publish it you may pick up obligations of your own. Under Article 50(4) of the AI Act, anyone who uses AI in a professional capacity has to disclose it when they publish:

• Deepfakes — AI-generated or manipulated images, audio or video that could be taken for real
• AI-generated text published to inform the public about matters of public interest

In those cases the disclosure has to be visible or audible to people without special tools. This is your responsibility as the person publishing, not ours as the provider of the tool.

To generate an answer, the assistant sends the content you choose to work with to our model provider, Google, which supplies the Gemini model behind motii. We do not use your content to train AI models. Our Privacy Policy explains what is sent, on what legal basis, and how long we keep it.

We do not use AI-generated people, synthetic voices or manipulated depictions of real people, products or events in our own marketing. If that ever changes, the AI Act requires us to mark such material visibly or audibly, and we will — and we will say so here first.

If you think something on this page is wrong, or that motii has failed to disclose something it should have, write to us first — we would rather fix it than argue about it. Article 85 of the AI Act also gives you the right to complain to the competent market surveillance authority in your EU member state. In Denmark, the Danish Agency for Digital Government (Digitaliseringsstyrelsen) is the national coordinating authority for the AI Act.

AI rules are moving quickly, and the European Commission has said its guidelines on Article 50 are a first interpretation that it expects to revise. We will update this page as the rules and our own implementation change, and the date at the top will tell you when we last did.
